Welcome to Facing Future College Consulting!

Hello, and thank you for visiting Facing Future College Consulting! My name is Rebecca Davidson, and I’m thrilled to share my passion and expertise in helping students and families navigate the college admissions process. With 18 years of experience in education and college counseling, I guide students toward achieving their academic and career goals. In July 2024, I decided to channel this experience into building a personalized, student-focused consulting service—and thus, Facing Future College Consulting was born.

About Me

I’ve lived and worked in the Greater Seattle area most of my life, and I’m deeply connected to the community here. I’m also a parent of two wonderful children, one of whom is currently in college (Go Zags!), which gives me a unique perspective on the journey from both a professional and personal standpoint. I understand the challenges, excitement, and sometimes overwhelming nature of the college admissions process, and I’m here to make that path as smooth and rewarding as possible.

Neither of my parents attended a four-year college, so my pathway through college admissions was self-driven. Looking back, my decisions led to more debt, transferring colleges midway through my sophomore year, and a lack of clarity about future career options. My goal is to provide families unfamiliar with the college admissions process peace of mind.

Why Facing Future?

“Facing Future” is a nod to Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, a Hawaiian musician. He said, “Facing future I see hope, hope that we will survive, hope that we will prosper, hope that once again we will reap the blessings of this magical land, for without hope, I cannot live. Remember the past, but do not dwell there; face the future where all our hopes stand.” He was discussing the importance for Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians) to remember who they are as they move into the future. My family comes from Hawai’i, and I wanted to recognize my past as I moved into my own future.

Facing Future also reflects the optimism and readiness I want every student to feel as they look ahead to the next chapter of their lives. With a personalized approach and a deep commitment to each student’s success, my goal is to make the journey to college both exciting and manageable.
