Preparing students for their biggest decision yet

Navigating Choices, Building Dreams, Bridging Family and Individual Success

Rebecca Davidson

With nearly 20 years dedicated to preparing students for college testing and admissions, I am passionate about guiding students through the college preparation process and supporting families during this crucial life transition. After graduating from Simpson University, I launched my career at Kaplan Test Prep and Admission in 2007, and since 2014, I’ve been providing expert college application consulting services in Issaquah, WA.

Over the years, my students have gained acceptance into prestigious institutions across the nation, including the University of Washington, Dartmouth, Duke, CalTech, Baylor, and many others. I bring extensive experience in guiding students toward popular majors such as Computer Science and Medical tracks, as well as less common paths in theater, arts, and linguistic studies.

Who Benefits from College Consulting?

While I personally believe every student can benefit from college consulting, I think it is especially helpful for:

  • First Generation Students – gain awareness of the admittance process and take advantage of every opportunity.

  • Students with Multiple Interests – be decisive and set yourself up for success.

Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing the “right” college can be daunting. With over 4,000 institutions in the US alone, how do you decide where to begin your research? I love working with families to create a specific list of criteria beyond major and geography to find the schools where students will become the adults they want to be. I can answer questions from experience and guide families to consider choices they did not even know they had.

All college applicants can benefit from college consulting. The increasingly fluctuating state of college admissions makes college consulting more valuable and in demand than ever before.

I am especially proud to work with students and families attending college in the United States for the first time. Access to college admissions should be available to all students from all communities.

I am a mixed-race woman who grew up in a home where a college education was not a given. My parents did not graduate from college and, because I am the third generation born in the United States, many of my family members did not understand what the college application process entailed. My personal experience helps me guide students from diverse backgrounds to express their stories and find their path forward. I am also a mom to a wonderful 20-year-old son, so I know firsthand the stress many parents experience as their children navigate this transition. Helping my son find the best fit college (Go Zags!) and the best major was a wild ride. I am here to support your whole family in this process. I value what a college education can do to support an entire family’s future. Helping our children choose a place to become the best version of themselves helps our families and, in turn, our entire community.

Additionally, one of the perks of working in college admissions is the collegiality of my peers. There are many valuable consultants that I am happy to refer families to if I am not a great fit.
